Forget Elvis (both of 'em). Forget Dwight Yoakum. Forget Bruce Springsteen. This is the most uplifting, harmonious version of the rock-a-billy classic "Little Sister," that I've ever had the pleasure of listening to.
I hope that you'll enjoy it as much as I do.
Ry Cooder is a bit bayou, a bit Stevie Vaughn and a bit Boz Scaggs. What a terrific amalgam. The twist -- instead of starting with the typical head-on verse in E, he has a fabulous vocal chorus intro in A which leads into the lilt of the song. He's got a fabulous backup trio. The sound is rocking but, oh, so smooth.
Mmmmmmm.
