Todd Rundgren - "It Wouldn't Have Made Any Difference"

In the live, in-concert solo version which follows, Todd absolutely pours his heart (and his lungs) out into one of the most haunting songs that I've ever known. The piano (in particular, the E major to A major riff with the sustained A in the bass -- a classic riff/vamp used by such other writer/artists as Carole King - "So Far Away" - Michael McDonald, Christopher Cross, Alan Parsons, Paul Davis....to name a few) is crystal clear. Todd's voice, with its emotional pain, intensity and spontaneous vibrato "ventures" into the the tapestry of the music, is moving and majestic.

I'll never forget channel-surfing on the great radio in my 1965 Mustang (purchased gently used) trying to find "The Light In Your Eyes," the first Todd Rundgren song that I'd ever heard.

Enjoy the live solo version, below. As an extra bonus (while supplies last!), I've also included another version of Todd performing the same song with supporting band Utopia. The harmony in THAT version (combined with those cymbals and chimes) made me feel like I was in Heaven when I was going through a great deal of Hell.
