Michael Johnson's best. Better, clearer, more angelic voice than on "Bluer Than Blue," wonderful lyrics, terrifically well-arranged guitars, keyboards and delicate musical work. A great story of being the fool, quietly watches as your former love cons her way into the next victim's heart -- you know she's toxic, but you still feel torn by love and jealousy. You'd like to hate her, but if she winked at you, you'd take her back in a second.
The Spinners said it in "Love Don't Love Nobody." Michael Johnson says it in cross-over country white. When you listen, you'll feel the influence of Paul Davis.
