Third World - "Reggae Ambassador"

Share this ARTICLE with your colleagues on LinkedIn .

It's true. I'm no fan or rap or hip-hop (with the exception of a few pulse-filled, musical and memorable ones). I am also finicky as heck about reggae. Most of it leaves me bored, but some of it can rock me back on my heels and make the hair stand up on the back of my neck.

I am a major fan of Third World, The late Johnny Nash and Eddy Grant (on occasion).

Here's a long play version of Third World's "Reggae Ambassador" which combines right foot reggae, some hysterically clever (listen carefully) rhythmic rap, signature harmony, syth drums (P.U.). This version gets a premature circumcision prior to its natural endpoint, but it is thrilling to listen to. Beautiful delivery of a message of peace. We should all give peace a chance.

My friend Jay Goldberg introduced me to this song, as he has to countless others which have enriched my life's experience. Thanks, Jay.

This one's for you, best buddy.
