This song is shamelessly ghetto. It even sounds like Johnny is singing a dirty word...but he isn't. When I first heard this joyous musical celebration of drug-dealing, street-corner hustling uneducated youth, I was actually jealous. The very best part is when Johnny pulls us to a combination gasoline station/grocery store. The dialogue is inspired.
Having said that, I'll confess that I like Johnny's voice quite a bit.
Sometimes, in the course of navigating one's way through the obstacle course that we call "life," it must be acknowledged... "It's A Real Mother For Ya."
Enjoy this. Get a bit funky within the confines of your office cubicle. Make a sour face at someone who you don't like. Go on. Get down wif' ya bad self -- roll up your advanced graduate certificates like big cee-gars and smoke 'em.
