The Zombies - "She's Not There" - 1965

British. Genuine rock n' roll from the sixties. Moody, fast moving , haunting in A minor. Trap drums. Primitive Wurlitzer electric piano (the same kind used by Ray Charles in "What I Say"). Unforgettable signature bass line. The Zombies where a wonderful 1960's group. "She's Not There," and "Time Of The Season," are perhaps two of the most memorable and cherished songs from this era.

Enjoy this original record version (overdubbed) of "She's Not There." In the middle ("well it's too late to say you're sorry/"), listen for the transition from D major (F# in the bass accentuates this) to D minor (F in the bass) before the repetitive bass riff in A minor begins again. Very sophisticated. A touch of Goth before its time. Excellent.
