Livin' It Up (Friday Night) - Bell And James

Share this ARTICLE with your colleagues on LinkedIn .

This immortal Bell and James slice of disco-soul goes out to every single hard-working (but tired and bored-to-death) salve who lives through the week just to get to Friday night -- when "Livin' It Up" meant going to dance clubs and having a psychedelic experience without real drugs -- this psychodiscomanic trip was a combination of ingredients: flashing disco lights; body heat and motion all around; a heady mix of perfumes, aftershaves, hairsprays and mouthwash... but mostly it was due to the glory of getting out of the cubicle, the cage, the conformist suit, and into your "anything's possible" superhero persona.

The whispered echos and other "special effects" give this song an undertone of a spy thriller.

The pheromones were flying as we were bumping and boogieing to this crazed liberation celebration, when we could finally fire our cannons and make some memories.

You know what to do - enjoy your trip!

Again -- If you missed it the first time... FREE: "Alright Now"

The ultimate rock n' roll march, in the bright, sparkling key of A. Noisy, but fabulous. One hit wonder? Shouldn't have been. Great bass line in instrumental (middle).

The Who - We Won't Get Fooled Again

Share this ARTICLE with your colleagues on LinkedIn .

Roger Daltry's angry musical outburst against the establishment, the status quo, and the failure of the populace to rise up in a mighty roar and break through the walls of indolence and mediocrity that Humanity has permitted to become a prison. Key of A. Loud. Lots of open strings on aggressive guitars. Power-packed, rolling drums -- like thunder out of the East.

This is the ultimate song of liberation.

Listen, and feel the blood rush to your face. Invest some time in breaking out of your self-imposed cubicle -- that's a grand metaphor having special, personalized meanings for each of us.
