This is one of the very best live performances by America of their chartbusting hit, "Sister Golden Hair." Rehearsed to perfection and performed flawlessly, this version was played on Burt Sugarman's legendary Midnight Special. It is Top - 40 magic -- filled with raw energy, the spirit of life, optimism and rock 'n roll. Key of E, lots of open strings, a cartload of country-western accented twang, and driving harmony.
I had to be careful to adhere to the 65 mph speed limit when this song came on the radio in my vintage Mustang.
DEDICATION (and APOLOGY)
As promised, this song is dedicated to Sandra Levitin and all of the wonderful 40+ women who are coming out of the shadows and into the limelight. And they are struttin' BIG TIME. I would suggest (strongly, with an implicit and subtle threat of violence) that you check out http://kalon-women.com/ and join up. I can't because of my, er, um...manhood...but I'm no fool -- I'm getting in tight with KALON WOMEN before they take the world out from under me.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to the local pharmacy to purchase some black cohosh root and some Midol - just in case company shows up.
