"It's A Shame", "I'll Be Around" and "One of a Kind Love Affair" were three of the Spinners' first and most powerfully arranged and orchestrated hits. The Spinners had a Motown-Philly soul mix in their richly-orchestrated sound, their choreography and energy were together and tight (yet natural), and, along with the Stylistics, they were a Gamble and Huff - influenced, 70's -dominating soul group on the fringe of the Dazz era.
Stevie Wonder wrote "It's a Shame" just for them, and he played (overdubbing) all of the instruments except for the horns on the original hit recording.
Enjoy "It's a Shame" by clicking on the link or clicking on the video player below. As a special bonus, I've also added several links (no videos) to some of my favorite Spinners' songs. You'll want to bookmark this article (for a great collection of music) and to either subscribe to the RSS or Email feed from this site. While you're playing, you might even make RadioDAZZ a favorite.
