Entrepreneurial De-Stress - Bill Withers' Soul

Share this ARTICLE with your colleagues on LinkedIn .

Bill Withers (the guy who sang "Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone" and "Lean On Me" -- which still reminds me of the alphabet song from Miss Meyer's class....) has the soul to get you out of your hole. Take a RadioDAZZ breather and listen to the best of his best.

Fact: Bill Withers, like your host (me) is a stutterer. Interestingly (for your neurologists, psychologists, speech pathologists, and bullies), he doesn't stutter at all when he sings. While I no longer stutter when speaking or singing, I consider myself to be a recovering stutterer - I don't think anyone with this difficulty ever truly recovers in full.

This song is pure soul, by definition. It features simple, rugged instrumentation -- that crazy clavinet riff that bites right into you like a pit bull, and some very scrappy guitar. But listen to this man's voice! Listen to those words! Feel something angry but good building up inside of you as the song unwinds like a western rattlesnake out of the rock pit? You're not alone, baby.

You just keep on using me - until you use me up. Amen.

Let Bill Withers and RadioDAZZ take you for a brief souljourn (that, Child, is a true Lingovation). Great song. Great Feeling. The world's cheapest escape. Do it. I'll write you a note if you need one for your partner.
