On And On: Stephen Bishop

A wonderful live performance by Stephen Bishop, with a full, rich accompaniment. The song's theme is the immalleable constant of a fool's romance: "Love Don't Love Nobody." It's simple, graceful with a tropical feel, enhanced by some wonderful pedal steel guitar work that was never truly enunciated on the Top 40's single.

Stephen Bishop notably performed the song "Something's Telling Me It Might Be You," from [I believe] the old Dustin Hoffman movie classic "Tootsie," which came out long before Mrs. Doubtfire (featuring Robin Williams) was in utero. Listen to that song - it's on the same YouTube page from which I culled this "in concert" treasure.

Please click on either the link or on the video player to enjoy this fabulous performance of the kind of song that everyone can identify with. Some of the visual imagery evoked by the metaphorical lyrics is truly touching. Some of us don't know that we have hearts until we feel them breaking. Listen loudly, lazily and get lost in every disillusioned lover's tropical island -- this one is miles from Margaritaville (Jimmy Buffet's wonderfully popular song), but it's far less tongue-in-cheek and much more lump in throat. DAZZRomance...
