This song was a fabulously, funky, slightly distorted, speaker-busting, white boy wonder for the Jaggerz. Great full chord harmony. Wonderful fuzz tone (was it an Arbiter Fuzz Face or a Maestro Fuzz Tone?). Lots of really raw 7th chords and twangy guitar with trebled-out keyboard. 1970 was an amazing year for sweet one-hit wonders. I was immersed in a series of put together bands, playing "original music" that we eventually recorded.
When we played our tape (reel to reel then) for Moishe Levy of Roulette Records, it took him less than 5 minutes to throw us out -- it really hurt. We'd spent 18 hours putting that demo tape together. And by the way that Mr. Levy tossed us, I started to have serious doubts about the chances of my becoming a rock star by the time I turned 21.
Listen loud and proud. It's absolute ear candy for people who love catchy songs. The lyrics are, like, so groovy Man!
