TAKE ME HOME TONIGHT! - Eddie Money Amazes - DAZZ DA POWER.

Just like Ronnie (Spector) said: "Be My Little Baby...," Eddie Money builds up an incredible feelings of pent-up passion with his amazing guitar and syth riff, deluxe with 60s-style drums and real castanets. Phil Spector (the late Andy Warhol's evil twin) should be proud.

A fabulous build-up, explosive climax, and an amazing counterpoint lyric on the bridge with Eddie and someone who sounds incredibly like Little Ronnie Spector. It brings to mind Tommy Tutone (Jenny, Jenny..") and Bryan Adams' impassioned pleading in "I'm Gonna Run To You." The guitar riffs and the driving, heavy on the bass drum cadence is the unifying element in the alchemy that makes these three songs intensely fiery. The guitar tone settings, wildly enough, remind me of a cross between The Hollies' "Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress," and T-Rex' immortal, "Bang A Gong, Get It On." Simple, single note or broken chord trebled-out riffs, but so committed...so clear and straight ahead.

I've had too much root beer. Better calm down.

"Take Me Home Tonight," is as much about truly dramatic theater as it is about a great pop song that you could crack the car windows down around and scream out the lyrics like a moon-crazed fool at a traffic light. This is pure Top 40 at its most brilliant.

Listen to Eddie Money's knockout single. Crank up the volume, sit back and click on the link or the video player, whichever catches you first. Mad about this song. Sorry 'bout the YouTube commercial at the beginning.
