During their period of transition from a light hearted, pop-oriented country rock crossover band to a darker, jazzier Mike McDonald soul-filled, keyboard-centered sound, this Doobie Brothers song, "Echoes Of Love," sneaked out and didn't get nearly enough airplay.

The song is filled with life, motion, robust harmony and a touch of tasty soul, as the group descended from "Listen To The Music" and "China Grove" into some more serious, introspective funkdom.

Play this song for everyone. Listen to it. Let it make your heart race. When I first heard it, I used to crack open the windows and sing my fool head off. The song is a single which somehow brings to life a hybrid of a guitar-oriented, twangy Orleans and a brisk but soulful Marvin Gaye. It slipped through the cracks. I just plain love this song. It is driving music.

With all due respect, I believe that this song (and this particular performance of it, with its driving beat, full-chord harmony) was shortchanged on popular radio. It was underrated and under-played. The band was in transition, suffering from a bit of an identity crisis.... this song just slipped through the cracks during a dark period. But the song is a treasure; it is filled with life, movement and was the kind of in-the-car song that you turned up, cracked the windows and flew to. RadioDAZZ

This has got to be one of my favorite, straight-ahead, rock-n-roll classics. It is so upbeat, uptempo and positive. The harmonies are rich and bright, with just a touch of soul from Michael McDonald. The song just rocks along like a kite on a spring afternoon. You can hear the sunshine. The instrumentation (a mixture of twangy open-stringed guitar rhythm and some terrifically artful synth by McDonald) is terrific. The song is so POSITIVE.

RadioDAZZ promises that you won't be disappointed. This song is a treasure -- it's a crying shame that it didn't receive more airplay. It will get you moving faster'n Peet's coffee.

"I cannot believe I finally found this song!!! I had the album and we KNOW how long ago that was. "Echoes of Love" was one of my top favorite Doobie Brothers songs. You have NO IDEA how long I have looked on YT for this!! I almost could not believe my eyes; I have perused Doobie Brothers the vids up and down over and over again. I cannot express how much I thank you for getting this song on. The Dobbie Brothers had a lot of great music, but this was the one 4 me."

Fabulous re-make, with some more surprises to follow in keeping with the Motown motif. The sound quality, arrangements, and harmonies are the best of all time....heavenly. The songs are classics. Pure. Absolute.
