Re-Energize With Southside Johnny - 10 Minutes To Inspire You. Get over your fatigue, writer's block, somnolence and inertia with the powerful electric energy of RadioDAZZ paying two great "wake your butt up" hits by Southside Johnny and The Asbury Jukes. The music will get your heart racing and bring waves of joy over your entire body (inside and out). And the videos are, for a welcome change, artful, attention-grabbing mini-movies.

Maybe it's just my primitive anecdotal estimate, but listeninging to these two songs with their accompanying videos is like running around the block at a brisk pace. The Jersey Shore Sound encompasses Springsteen, Eddie And The Cruisers (The Beaver Brown Band), and Southside Johnny and The Asbury Jukes.

Johnny was underplayed, but we're going to make up for it right here and right now. My two favorites are queued up  for me to share with you, and for you to share with all of your social media.

Let's give Johnny's music a chance to really be heard.

The most profoundly beautiful song about lost love that I've ever heard is "How Could I Let You Get Away?" by the Spinners. The mood, the lyrics, the soulful harmony, the quiet vibes in the background, the fabulously eloquent electric sitar solo in the middle...I cried my fool eyes out the first time that I heard it. It never received enough airplay.

Please listen to every word, every nuance, every breath -- let it take you where it took me -- baptized in my own tears.

I was at a girlfriend's house (she'd turned me on to the album), and I lied to her and said that I had to run outside and "check something in my car." I was ashamed that a song could touch me so deeply. I couldn't catch my breath. I should have told her the truth - but I was young.

When I came back inside, she asked me why my eyes were so red. I mumbled something about allergies...

I think that she's probably figured out the truth by now. Funny, too, because I think of her every time I hear this song.

Please listen. I hope that you'll hear what I heard and feel what I felt.

I have truly come to admire, respect and enjoy the two-octave Bob Seger (with or without the Silver Bullet Band). He has a raspy raw voice, and has done some great dancefloor or driving-over-the-legal-speed-limit music. I am crazy about "Katmandu,"Rock And Roll Never Forgets," the very sentimental "Night Moves" [a song that puts me into a deeply nostalgic mood], and some others.

My favorite Seger song shook me up with its electric intensity (it had a Tower-Of-Power "What Is Hip?" non-stop energy to it) when I first heard it in the Eddie Murphy movie classic "48 Hours". The song never received enough airplay or recognition.

Click on it. Play it loud. Try (I dare you) to stay still in your seat. Feel that Hammond organ intensity build up, an the explosive hook (Caucasians of royal breeding often refer to the "hook" as the "Refrain" -- but that's just semantics -- it's about the music).

Forward this post to every one you know who needs a kick in the pants or a jumpstart at work. I'm serious. Do It!

I'll admit it. I snagged this post from my personal blog http://aboutdouglascastle.blogspot.com/ . This song, originally performed by the Isley Brothers, was re-made brilliantly in the 1970s by The Average White Band.

AWB takes it a bit faster, and they actually make it more intense. Listen to the power of the driving, hypnotic refrain, "Work! Work!".
